Region
Texas Coast
2 pirates in the codex documented as operating here.
The Texas coast, and specifically Galveston Island, was the relocation site for the Lafitte enterprise after the dispersal of the Barataria base in 1814 and the post-war pardons of 1815. The “Campeche” settlement on the eastern end of Galveston Island operated from roughly 1817 to 1821 under Mexican letters of marque against Spanish shipping, with a shore establishment of several hundred and a fleet that ranged across the western Gulf. The settlement was ended by the arrival of the United States Navy in 1821 under orders related to the Adams-Onís Treaty negotiations.
